🌱 Roots of Empathy Coming to Our School!
We are excited to be piloting the Roots of Empathy program at our school this year! Roots of Empathy is an engaging, evidence-based program that helps students develop empathy, emotional awareness, kindness, and positive relationships by learning about a real baby’s growth and development.
As part of the program, students will have the special opportunity to observe a “baby teacher” throughout the school year. Through regular visits, students will learn to recognize and understand the baby’s emotions, needs, development, and unique personality, while building important skills such as empathy, compassion, perspective-taking, and emotional regulation.
👶 We’re Looking for a Baby Volunteer Family!
To make this program possible, we are looking for a family with a baby between approximately 2–4 months old who would be interested in participating in our pilot program.
The baby and a parent/caregiver would visit the classroom periodically throughout the school year for short, scheduled sessions. These visits are a wonderful opportunity for students to learn firsthand about babies and emotional development, while also celebrating the unique personality and growth of their little “baby teacher.”
If you or someone you know has a baby who may be a good fit and would be interested in learning more about this opportunity, please reach out to me directly. I would be happy to provide more information about what participation would involve and answer any questions you may have.
We are very excited about bringing this unique learning experience to our students and are grateful to the family who may be willing to share their little one with us! 💚
