Are you an Open Learning student? The Writing Centre's Open Learning schedule is open until May 15th through our online schedule!
It's easy to use:
1 - Sign up for a Writing Centre account at tru.ca/writingcentre
2 - Book an appointment by clicking a white (empty) space
3 - Attach your assignment instructions, draft, and add any details that may be helpful for your tutor.
The tutor will return your paper with feedback, suggestions, and helpful resources by 11pm on the day of the appointment.

A good way to stop procrastinating is to think about why you want to avoid the project.
“It’s too difficult.”
Learning more about the project with a tutor or knowledgable classmate might make it less intimidating.
“I don’t know how to start.”
Try breaking the project down into steps. Talk with a tutor or your teacher if you need help.
“It’s boring - I just never feel like it.”
You can brainstorm ways that the experience will be useful to you, or focus the topic in a way that aligns with your interests.
“It’s so much work - I’ll never get it done”
Gotta start somewhere! Break the project down into smaller steps and focus on taking one step at a time.
Lastly, try booking an assignment interpretation session at the Writing Centre when you get a new assignment! We’ll help you understand the requirements and set up a step-by-step plan to get it done.

The Writing Centre is open for reading break! We are closed on Monday for Family Day, but are open at regular office hours Tuesday to Saturday, 10 am to 4 pm.
