Bringing a reusable water bottle to TRU is a small step with a big impact! Use our refill stations for cleaner, better-tasting water and help keep plastic out of landfills.

🎬 Films for Change is returning to TRU, bringing the campus community together to watch thought-provoking films and have meaningful conversations about sustainability.
We already have one film lined up for the season, but we'd love to add a few more.
If you've seen a documentary, short film or series that explores sustainability and could spark a great discussion, we'd love to hear your ideas. Community groups, faculty, staff, students and film enthusiasts are all welcome to submit a proposal.
We'll provide the venue, the popcorn 🍿 and help with the event. You bring the film and the conversation.
Interested? Send us an email at [email protected] or visit https://www.tru.ca/sustainability/events/films-for-change-community-film-series.html.

🚲 The bicycle decals around campus are a simple reminder that we all share the road.
Whether you're on a bike, behind the wheel or walking to class, taking an extra moment to look out for one another helps keep everyone safe.
It's also the perfect time to start thinking about GoByBike Week, happening September 19–25. If you've been meaning to get back on your bike, consider this your sign to take it for a spin before September.

There's been a lot happening around campus lately, and much of it is connected to the Low Carbon District Energy System.
When it's complete, the system is expected to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from campus heating by about 95 percent compared to 2020 levels. Over the next 30 years, that's more than 100,000 tonnes of emissions avoided.

Summer is one of the busiest times of year on campus... at least if you're a bee. 🐝🌼
As a proud Bee City Campus, TRU is helping create spaces where bees, butterflies and other pollinators can thrive.
The next time you're walking across campus, take a closer look at the flowers around you. Chances are you'll spot a few hard at work.
These tiny pollinators play a big role in healthy ecosystems and the food we eat every day. 🐝

Summer is one of the best times to enjoy campus.
The trees are in full leaf, there's plenty of shade, and it's the perfect excuse to take your lunch outside or find a quiet spot between classes.
Whether you're catching up with a friend, reading a chapter or just taking five minutes away from your screen, a little time outdoors can go a long way.
Our campus is pretty beautiful this time of year. Take a moment to enjoy it.

It's Plastic Free July.
This month is a good time to stop and notice the little things you use every day and ask, "Could I reuse that instead?"
At TRU, we've tried to make those choices a little easier.
💧 Refill your bottle with Fill it Forward, and every scan supports clean water projects while tracking the impact of your reusable bottle.
🛠️ Got something that needs fixing instead of replacing? The MakerSpace is a great place to repair, create and give things a second life.
🍴 Catering continues to use compostable packaging and reusable service ware to help reduce waste at campus events.
♻️ Our zero waste stations make it easier to sort recycling, compost and landfill items the right way.
If you can't do it all, that's ok. Start with one action, be consistent, and once it becomes a habit, add another action.
