Join us for a community meal this thursday at noon in the TRUSU Lecture Hall! This week's meal is a roasted vegetable marinara pasta with garlic toast. The pasta and sauce are vegan and dairy free. The toast is vegetarian.

The Entertainment Committee has been hard at work this summer planning an epic series of events to welcome students back to campus in September! One of our annual events is the Outdoor Movie Night and Carnival! Yesterday, Community Affairs Executive Abdus Samad Khan presented the priorities of students at TRU to the BC Committee on Finance and Government Services during consultations for the 2027 BC Budget.

Our recommendations included:
1️⃣ Maintain the domestic tuition fee cap to keep post-secondary education affordable.
2️⃣ Increase the BC Access Grant and expanding the Future Skills Grant to reduce financial barriers and student debt.
3️⃣ Provide resources to implement the recommendations of the post-secondary sector review.
4️⃣ Provide clarity and consistency in the funding model for post-secondary education across the sector.

TRUSU Representatives were happy to meet with the BC Minister of Advanced Education Jessie Sunner this week alongside TRUFA and CUPE.
