Today is World Mental Health Day!

Mental health struggles aren’t just something "other people" experience—they directly affect our students, our families, and our community every day. The numbers speak for themselves:

- Young people are hit hardest: Youth aged 15 to 24 are more likely to experience mental illness and/or substance use disorders than any other age group.

- High school distress is real: In Ontario, 39% of high school students report moderate-to-serious levels of psychological distress (anxiety and depression), with an additional 17% reporting serious psychological distress.

- Stigma keeps people silent: Stigma remains one of the largest obstacles to seeking help. A CAMH survey revealed that 75% of working Canadians would be reluctant—or outright refuse—to disclose a mental illness to a colleague or employer, mostly out of fear of judgment or negative consequences.

We cannot afford to let shame or silence stand in the way of care. Recognizing that mental health is just as important as physical health is the first step toward breaking down stigma and making sure our kids feel safe asking for support.

If you or someone you know is struggling, remember that you don't have to carry it alone. Reach out, check in on a friend, and let’s build a school culture where seeking help is seen as a strength. 💛🖤

We are selling poinsettias and holiday plants again this year! These plants were absolutely beautiful the last couple years, and make wonderful gifts for the holiday season.

Paper order forms are being sent home with students today. Orders can be placed online at the link below too. All orders need to be placed by November 2. Orders can be picked up November 17 at 3 pm from the school.

Thank you for your support! The money raised from this fundraiser will go towards supporting SRC activities, guest speakers, and educational trips.

We are selling beautiful plants to help raise money for our programs. Plants are a great way to encourage our friends to get out into the garden while supporting a healthy fundraising event. Please check our website at Growing Smiles Fundraising for more information.

Two of our students joined over 150 middle school students in Regina on Friday to participate in the Saskatchewan Roughrider Foundation's second annual Girls' Summit. Throughout the event, they took part in interactive sessions focused on physical activity, leadership, and mental wellness. Highlights of the day included learning how to throw a football, how to tackle, yoga, and getting a football to take home!
