😎Grade 7 Transition Day 🎉

To celebrate their upcoming move to David Thompson Secondary School, 125 Grade 7 students from across the Windermere Zone gathered along with 17 peer leaders from DTSS and supportive staff from every school building connection and community to support a smoother transition into Grade 8 next year. This is the final event of many transition activities we hold throughout the year including sports jamborees, school tours, student question and answer sessions and a parent night.

Good luck to all these students as they start high school in September!

Thank you to staff at all schools that make events like this possible and all the support they offer our learners 💙

Topics included green screen video editing, virtual reality, complex contraptions, collaboration, and drones. The pictured students are coding a drone to fly to a target in the gym - so cool!

Imagine a World 06/04/2026

June is National Indigenous History Month — a time to learn, reflect, and celebrate the rich histories, cultures, knowledge, and contributions of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis Peoples.

In this powerful video, Jenna Jasek, Director of Indigenous Learning at The Outdoor Learning School and a Kenp̀esq̓t and Ktunaxa woman, shares a story that invites us to see history through a different lens while highlighting the brilliance, resilience, and gifts Indigenous Peoples have always brought to this land. She reminds us that reconciliation begins with listening, learning, and walking together with good hearts and good minds.

As we continue our journey of learning and reconciliation, we encourage our community to listen, learn, and engage with Indigenous voices and perspectives.
