Tutoring for French Immersion and Core French students
“Interesting, not Boring!”
The Tutoring Program helps the students to develop their French language proficiency. We provide professional homework assistance, by making sure students understand the concepts before they start doing homework. Students will have the opportunity to enjoy reading club activities in French. We select interesting books, grammar material, audio and video materials to stimulate the student’s interest in learning in a pleasant atmosphere. We offer one-on-one tutoring services for students who require remedial assistance as well as enrichment to the regular program. Tutoring sessions start with a free initial assessment of the student. The assessment process helps the tutor understand a student’s specific needs. With this knowledge, we create a learning program that is suited to the individual’s learning style and areas of difficulty. Tutor and the student’s parents sign an agreement where the responsibilities of Tutor and the student/parents are listed. The length of each tutoring session will consist of 50 minutes of lessons and teaching, followed by up to 5 minutes of communication with parents. The student has an individual program based on his/her personal educational needs. In order to link tutoring to the school program, Tutor may contact the student’s classroom teacher for any pertinent information. Tutor provides continuous communication with the parents on the student’s progress. Tutor regularly assesses the student’s progress with short oral and written tests. During our tutoring sessions we use educational material approved by Ministry of Education of Ontario. We follow The Ontario FSL curriculum. Our Tutoring Program will help the student to:
+ understand the concepts before he/she starts doing the homework
+ prepare for tests and quizzes
+ improve his/her pronunciation
+ enlarge his /her vocabulary
+ develop his/her writing skills
+ understand grammar
+ communicate in French on day-to-day topics
+ develop and strengthen his/her fluency in French

Tutoring at "Irina’s French" differs from traditional "catching up" techniques. We give the students a solid French Language base; develop their competency by setting the individual approaches they need in order to succeed. The explanations are in French, English & Russian. Our experience confirms that the student’s improvement is guaranteed after just few months of study. Summer Camp
”Irina’s French” is a full day academic camp for children ages 5 to 8 who are planning to go or are already enrolled in French Immersion schools. We cover key aspects of the Ontario FSL curriculum ad offer exciting activities and projects to make learning French a fun experience. Preschoolers will have the opportunity to be prepared for their studies in French Immersion schools. They will develop their speaking, reading, listening and writing skills in French. French Immersion school students will sharpen their skills in French Language and Mathematics. Camp Program:
