Nous sommes endeuillés par la perte de Nana, une aikidoka incroyable. Incroyable de par son étiquette, sa persévérance, sa candeur et sa rigueur dans le dojo. Nos plus sincères condoléances à Hans De Groot Sensei, à sa famille et à ses amis. Je garde de très bons souvenirs de notre cheminement ensemble.

It is with deep sorrow and regret that I announce the passing of Naoko (Nana) Tanaka. Nana returned to the source on February 12, 2026 after a two-year battle with cancer. She was a longstanding and beloved member of the Aikido Yoshinkai Canada community, and a cherished member of Aikido Yoshinkai Ottawa. She fought her cancer with courage, determination, and a deep appreciation for what each moment of life offered her. She will be missed by all who knew her.
