Help Us Finish What We’ve Started!

What a year it has been at King’s Cross Academy!

We’ve been incredibly thankful to watch our school grow. This year, we’ve been able to:

✅ Add new classrooms
✅ Expand existing classrooms to give our students more room to learn
✅ Create a new loft and storage area
✅ Continue improving our facilities to better serve our students and families

But we’re not quite finished.

There are a few important projects left to complete, and we need to raise approximately $20,000 to get them across the finish line.

Our remaining projects include:

🔥 Completing important fire safety improvements
🛡️ Adding additional safety features throughout the school
🛝 Installing playground equipment in our kindergarten area

These are practical needs, but they have a bigger purpose.

We want to provide a safe, beautiful, and well-equipped place where children can learn, grow, and be formed in wisdom and virtue.

We truly desire (and believe it to be the case thus far) to provide an education that is worth far more than the cost of tuition. That said, in the crazy, dual-income, 50% tax rate world that we live in, even that is more than some are able to commit to.

For families who are wishing to pursue registration but may be in need of financial assistance, King’s Cross Academy does have a limited amount of funds available. We want to encourage families who may benefit from this support to reach out and begin the application process.

Financial assistance decisions are made on a case-by-case basis by the KCA School Board.

Please note that some financial documentation is required as part of the process. Families must apply each year, even if they received financial assistance during the previous academic year.

The deadline to submit financial assistance requests is June 30.

"Some say we are living in a “post literate society” with reading comprehension in steep decline. With the rise of digital media, fewer and fewer kids are learning how to read a book. College professors at elite universities are worried because their students are overwhelmed by reading multiple books in a single semester. What is more, there are kids who graduate high school without ever learning how to read at all. Some public institutions are prophesying the “end of reading” as we know it. To some modern seers, the age of books is coming to a close.

Against this dim prophecy stand those who have actually read a book. They know that western civilization has gone through seasons of decadent illiteracy before. The easiest place to look for an example is the slow train crash that was the Roman Empire. One of the most advanced societies humanity has ever known fell (largely through apathy and neglect) into a surprising illiteracy that lasted for centuries. It was the men who built libraries, which were often preserved by the Church, that saved society, holding in collected and treasured texts the wisdom of past generations."
