We were recently on a northern river in extreme high water, and were given the choice of 1) probably injury and possibly death if proceeding downriver, or 2) portage and avoid death, but probably injury. It took a long time to make the right decision, and we're glad we did the portage. If we had cell access to see around the corner of the raging river, we would have had a better idea, but take a look at the shadow the hoodoo is projecting! Would you have said this was a sign from Google Earth, just to skip the long debate and get on with the portage?🤣
