Creative Art Adventures - Teaching Children with Autism

Creative Art Adventures - Teaching Children with Autism A Place for Exceptional Children & Youth to Explore, Discover & Awaken Their Gifts Held in a kind, nurturing, supportive, safe environment.

The Creative Art Adventures Club is a social learning opportunity for families who have exceptional children and youth with autism ages 5 -17. Caroline Butson leads the families through a series of creative art activities. Participants explore a variety of creative mediums to facilitate self expression in a fun supportive atmosphere. We explore nature with storytelling, rhythm music and movement,

clay modelling, drawing and painting in each afternoon session. The Creative Art Adventures Club is designed for exceptional children with autism ages 5 to 17 years who endure social anxiety and communication difficulties. Can accommodate up to 6 children and their parent, sibling or support worker. The Creative Art Adventures Club will build a stronger community by linking individuals with Autism to other possibilties and opportunities in their community. Parents and support workers will be able to connect with their children in a meaningful way through a variety of fun, creative activities. Participants will learn social skills; how to co-operate and respect one another. The children and youth with ASD will be given fun, creative tools to express their inner world. As the youth becomes more grounded, centered and self confident, the whole family will benefit. These sessions aim to enhance the child’s communication, co-ordination and balance giving them an opportunity to develop their innate gifts. Parents, siblings, and caregivers will benefit too as they learn to explore their own
creativity, relax and gain confidence with the creative process so that they can continue to apply the creative tools at home as well.
