HCSA is currently seeking individuals interested in joining our Board of Directors! Our AGM is a great opportunity to meet our team, learn about our programs, and discover what being a board member involves.

We also welcome individuals interested in becoming general members, volunteering, sharing ideas, and supporting the work we do throughout our community.

During the evening, we'll reflect on the past year, share updates from our programs and services, review our financials, and discuss what's ahead for HCSA.

☕🍩 Coffee, tea, and baked goods will be provided!

Everyone is welcome! Whether you're interested in joining our board, becoming a member, or simply learning more about HCSA, we'd love to see you there!

💜🩵 September is Su***de Prevention Month

Su***de prevention starts with connection, compassion, and conversation.

Sometimes the people who are struggling the most are the ones we least expect. Taking a moment to check in, listen without judgment, and remind someone that they matter can make a meaningful difference.

You don’t need to have all the right words. Sometimes simply asking “Are you okay?” and being willing to listen is enough to start a conversation.

If you or someone you know is struggling with thoughts of su***de, support is available.

📞 Call or text 9-8-8 for Canada’s Su***de Crisis Helpline, available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

🚨 If there is immediate danger, call 9-1-1 or go to the nearest emergency department.

This September, let’s continue working toward a community where conversations about mental health and su***de are met with compassion, understanding, and support.

You matter. Your story matters. Help is available. 💜

This position is a great opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children, youth, and families in our community while building their experience in the human services field.

Representatives from Service Canada will be at Houston Community Services Association to provide in-person assistance with government services, including CPP, OAS, GIS, SIN, Employment Insurance, My Service Canada Account, the Canadian Dental Care Plan, Canada Disability Benefit, and more.
