Today staff and students from NEA schools celebrated National Indigenous Peoples Day with our annual year-end Pow Wow at Nipisihkopahk Secondary School. It was a significant occasion marking our last year-end Pow Wow under NEA. Next year our schools will celebrate together as Maskwacîs Education Schools Commission. A special thank you to Chief Vernon Saddleback, Councillor Mario Swampy, MLA for Wetaskiwin-Camrose Bruce Hinkley, and Wetaskiwin mayor Tyler Gandam for attending our Pow Wow. And thank you to all others in attendance.

We wish everyone a very happy National Indigenous Peoples Day!

Nipisihkopahk Elementary School will be having their end of the year award ceremony today at 1:00PM. All are welcome!

On Thursday, June 21, Nipisihkopahk Education Authority will be hosting their end of year school powwow!

Last night Maskwacis suffered a great loss with the lives of five people taken so suddenly. On behalf of the staff and students of NEA, we express our deepest sympathy and send prayers to the families affected by this tragedy. Counselors are on hand at our schools to provide support for staff and students.

Nipisihkopahk Elementary School just finished their Mathletics Cup. Students completed math tasks on Mathletics, an online interactive site to improve math skills. The competition was 6 weeks long and it was a hard-fought battle with all students working so hard to improve their individual score and to compete for a top classroom award. Congratulations to all! Here are the final results!
