CLIENT PROGRESS - Super happy with Adrian Nayak and our progress so far into his Shoulder Rehabilitation...we are about 6 months post the latest incident of the 3 Left Anterior Shoulder Dislocations that he has experienced in the last 18 months! 😬, which he suffered each time playing Basketball 🏀

We have already navigated the slower but crucial early steps of Rehab, where our focus was on improving mobility, Isometric strength and the beginning steps of addressing the imbalances in his shoulder that led to the unfortunate injuries occurring.

We're now finally exploring strength in maximal ranges of motion (ROM), as well as only just returning to Overhead ROM, through Pulling/Pushing movements, which is great to see him moving well and without pain ❤️

Our journey hasn't finished, as we're preparing for Adrian to have Shoulder Surgery in the next couple of months, which is so important for increasing the success of the surgery itself, as well as the Rehab journey on the other side, placing us in a stronger position to Rehab as close to 100% as possible 🙌💪...just as important with most/all other musculoskeletal surgeries.

Awesome work Adrian, keep up the consistency and dedication you've show so far and look forward to you getting back on the court with confidence 🙌🏀

Oh my there's a wealth of information out there hey!...What to eat and what to do...what not to eat and things to avoid...its so easy to become overwhelmed very quickly on the subject of Nutrition and not know where to start or what's best for your particular body and goals 🎯

The important thing to know is that it doesn't have to be complicated, by jumping straight into counting calories and/or weighing food etc, this all may be overkill for now, perhaps even leading to developing unhealthy relationships with food and ending up putting you off making the healthy changes to your diet, that will deliver great results on their own! 💪

A behavioural approach to improving your Nutritional Habits can be a fantastic place to start and what will help you learn healthy behaviours that last a lifetime, not just to help lose weight or target a temporary goal.

This puts YOU in CONTROL of your choices and eating habits, which then quickly turn into progress and results. I like to work on Habits with my clients, suggesting to work on adopting 1 on at a time, practicing for a week or 2 and then looking at the next 1 to bring on board.

For example, as in the picture below, 1 habit you may try is simply to "Eat Slowly & until you are 80% Full". This simple behaviour, can quite simply help you to "Lose Fat". 😁

Eating in a far more relaxed, chilled state can help the body to more efficiently control energy management.

This is particularly so, when considering the normal effect on the body caused through anxiety & stress, where ‘spikes’ of blood sugar levels occur as our body prepares for a fight/flight decision. However, when this happens during eating, it is quite likely that the body (and Liver) will be in a state of ‘energy-storage’ mode to save all the additional energy coming from the new food, as there is plenty already available in the blood stream (caused by anxiety/stress hormones). 🥵

Eating without these spikes in energy caused by stress (or things like eating too quickly/on-the-go), can mean the body and it’s systems are in a confident place to utilise the energy from food & any additional energy being taken from its stores (adipose tissue), helping to lose fat. 😇

Please let me know if this is a helpful suggestion for you in the comments below :)...if you would like more bespoke advice or support, my Nutrition coaching package includes 1 x 1hr 1:1 session per month, plus Guidance and suggested programs to follow that are designed towards your goals...please feel free to reach out today to find out more! 🙌

**TESTIMONIAL** - John (age 26 - at time of pics in 2020)

John has been a client of mine for just over 4 years now, originally starting just a couple of months prior to the Covid outbreak in early 2020.

This (as it did for many people in many walks of life), provided a little pickle to solve, in this case in order to keep John supported towards his original goal of getting fairly lean for the summer. 💪

As gym's where out of the question, our work quickly transferred towards an online PT approach, in order to keep John accountable and moving towards his goals. 🎯

This came in the form of weekly check-ins, 1-2-1's on FaceTime or Zoom, as well as me providing programs for him to follow for Exercise & Nutrition.

As you can see in the pics, we achieved a cracking result, especially for someone like John, who had spent years of dedication working out on his own, prior to us starting to work together. 🏆

Super proud of John and I'm lucky to continue to have the pleasure of being his PT to date, even now as I live in Canada and he still resides in the UK.

If you're interested in making progress and are struggling to see the fruits of your hard work in the gym and trying to work on nutrition, please reach out today to see how I can help support you towards the goals you want to achieve! 🙌❤️ - Craig

I wish it was simple as Exercise alone! 🏋️‍♀️....At Pure Motion PT, I encourage the appreciation of the 'Whole Person', considering that our health is multidimensional and understanding how all areas of our health are entwined with each other ⚖️

We can turn up at the gym 5 days a week, but if we don't take care of our Nutrition, or get enough Sleep...you're gunna struggle to see the fruits of your hard work and those calories burned! 🙈

If we don't get enough Nutrient-rich Food in the diet, then our Energy will suffer and you won't be able to deliver your best performance in your training, nor provide the tools for your body to grow/repair and improve your cellular health! 🍏🥕🥦

Maybe your Sleep quality is all over the place? 😴 Well you're likely to be chasing the wrong food calories the next day looking for the quick energy top up (energy drinks etc), experience things like 'Brain Fog', memory issues, sluggishness, perhaps the typical afternoon slump around 2 or 3pm? Plus issues with 'Will Power' and making poor choices the next day, or struggle with sore muscles for days and days after a workout

While there is more than 1 plate to spin to achieve 'Deep Health' and noted results for your body, this doesn't have to be complicated.

I'm here to help you understand what the right 'Daily Actions' are for you and your goals 🔑....get in touch today to find out more!! 😁 - Craig

Hi Mate!!
If you desire to make a positive change to your health & fitness with the guidance and support of an experienced professional, my name is Craig Davies and I would love the chance to chat about the right path for you to achieve your goals! 😊

I am a qualified Personal Trainer (PT) and University Graduate (BSc), holding over 12 years of international experience in my field - mostly spent in Liverpool (UK) and now located in Hinton (AB, Canada), the gateway to the Rocky Mountains.

Alongside offering PT support for typical goals such as weight loss and strength & fitness improvements, I have a great passion for sports performance & development, functional movement, rehabilitation & postural correction, gymnastics and much more.

My niche areas of service cater for more complex client goals within PT;
1) Specific Sporting/Athletic development through identifying imbalances in the body and addressing strength & mobility weaknesses, which prevent optimal performance.
2) Physical Rehabilitation using a combination of movement-based therapies, helping to identify root causes of dysfunction, helping to coach clients to manage, reduce or eliminate pain caused by postural imbalances, sporting, or lifestyle injuries - allowing the potential to return to movements and activities previously unattainable.

The wide range of experience I’ve gained over my career has allowed me to achieve success with a wide range of clients, with everything from body transformations, holistic health improvements and athletic development, to working with special exercise populations; such as those with chronic health conditions (diabetic/pre-diabetic, hypertension, obesity, etc), pre- and post-natal women, amputees as well as those with structural or functional musculoskeletal conditions.

If you are ready to start making progress towards your goals, let’s do it together and please get in touch today!
