Today we had some turkey fun with our Turkey Escape Game! 🦃 The students took turns flipping a leaf to reveal a number and then carefully pushed the turkey that many times. But they had to be very careful… because you never knew when that turkey was going to squawk and escape from his pen! 😂🦃
So much fun packed into one little game while practicing number recognition, counting, one-to-one correspondence, taking turns, and following directions. Lots of giggles and a few surprised faces when that turkey made his escape! 🍂❤️

Our classroom smelled AMAZING today! 🦃🍂❤️ These little learners were so intrigued by the process of cooking a turkey and had SO many questions! They wanted to see what basting was all about, were fascinated by how we would get the meat ready for our soup, and watched closely as the turkey cooked. Of course, once the turkey was ready, we had to do a little taste test! There were lots of big smiles and plenty of “YUMS!” throughout the classroom. 😋

With all this talk about turkeys and Thanksgiving during our Letter T week, the students and I thought it would be the perfect time to make a Turkey Harvest Soup and invite our families to join us for a Harvest Feast! 🦃🍂🥕 But first, we needed to cook a turkey! This was another great opportunity for some real-life, hands-on learning—talking about where our food comes from, and what happens before it reaches our plates.We are so excited to turn our learning into a delicious Harvest Feast with our families! ❤️

A big thank you to our local fire departments for joining us today for Fire Prevention Month! 🚒❤️ Our students had the opportunity to listen to a fire safety presentation and then take part in fun, interactive stations where they could learn about fire safety and prevention through hands-on experiences. What a great way to learn important safety skills while having some fun along the way! 🔥🧯👩‍🚒 We are so thankful for the firefighters who took the time to teach and spend the morning with our students! ❤️

Today we combined letter T learning with some Thanksgiving fun as we created our very own turkey art using bingo dabbers. A fun, hands-on way to practice fine-motor skills, colour recognition, creativity, and following directions while celebrating Thanksgiving together! 🧡🍂

After reading a story about what Olaf is thankful for, we had a little conversation about Thanksgiving and all the things we can be grateful for. 🧡 Each student then had a chance to share what they are thankful for and write it down. I love seeing what is important to our little learners and the things they think make their lives special. 🥰

Getting to pet real turkeys was such a special experience for our Kindergarten students! 🦃❤️ There was so much learning happening as they gently touched, observed, talked about what they noticed, asked questions, and practised being calm and respectful around the animals. They were using their senses, building confidence, learning about animals, food, and making a real connection to our letter T learning. These are the moments I love most about Kindergarten—when the learning comes to life and the kids get to experience it for themselves. What a fun and memorable way to learn about T is for Turkey! 🦃
