💙 We're thrilled to be involved in the 2026 Imagine Marine Conference! 🌊

Here's a word from our executive director, John Vandenberg:

"I’m excited to join a panel discussion at the Imagine Marine Conference 2026, September 22–23 at Ottawa’s Rogers Centre. This year’s theme, Future-Proofing the Marine Workforce: Skills, Tech, and Talent, will explore how the sector can adapt to evolving workforce trends while engaging the next generation and increasing employee retention.

In my session, "Sectoral Solutions: Building a Resilient Marine Workforce to Support Canada's Economic Growth Ambitions", we'll discuss how the marine sector can respond to growing challenges and opportunities through practical initiatives, cross-sector collaboration, and targeted investment to strengthen capacity and support Canada’s economic goals.

Join me and industry leaders from across Canada as we tackle the marine sector’s biggest workforce and skills challenges."

We’d like to shoutout Moon Time Connections (Moon Time Connections ) for their incredible donation to AMT’s training centre! ❤️

Moon Time Connections (MTC) is “a national Indigenous-led period equity group” that works under True North Aid. Their mission is to provide Indigenous menstruators equitable access to menstrual products, and uplifting vital menstrual education where needed. Due to the overabundance we received, we decided to disperse excess products to local organizations where possible. We feel incredibly fortunate to be able to provide northerners access to these materials where possible. 🙂

We would additionally like to highlight the incredible work that True North Aid (True North Aid ) has been providing to wildfire evacuees across Canada through this challenging year. If you’d like to learn more about how you can help wildfire evacuees throughout your region, you can find more information at truenorthaid.ca

From the bottom of our hearts, we’re incredibly grateful to MTC for their generous donation. We’re so happy to be able to provide an accessible learning environment for all of our students!

We’re excited to announce that moving forward, we will be officially pivoting our brand towards ‘Arctic Marine Training’.

This name highlights the most important aspects of our organization - the Arctic where we live, work, and play, and our identity as a fundamental maritime training centre for northerners.

We’ve been so excited about this development! Let us know what you think down below. ⬇️

It was a pleasure to take a trip to Yellowknife this past week and take part in the Youth Opportunity Fair!

We met a number of amazing community members, and it was a real treat to introduce potential students to our course offerings! It was also an amazing opportunity to connect with northern employers, and expand our network through different industry partners!

AMT is grateful to have such a supportive community while we upgrade our training operations. We constantly strive for excellence for our students, and these career fairs allow us to adjust our practices to accommodate students as best as possible.
