The Special Equestrian Therapeutic Riding Association was born out of necessity and a discussion in 2003. With a solid and dedicated board of directors, trained instructors and its charitable status in place, Speqtra began with 5 students in 2005. We now service over 50 clients, steadily increasing our numbers over the years at a manageable rate. Research has shown the beneficial results therapeutic riding provides in rehabilitation following stoke, head injury, and traumatic brain damage and has shown critical improvements in the treatment of mental health issues and learning disabilities, through the human-animal bonding process. The horse provides rhythmical, multidimensional movement that facilitates many changes in the rider, improving balance, coordination, muscle strength, muscle tone, self-confidence and self-esteem as well as attention span, independence and social integration. Speqtra provides individual programming focusing on individual achievements, meeting each participant at their level of ability and encouraging them to reach new goals.

A note of thanks to all, for the support we had at last night's Trivia event. We appreciate the participants, the round sponsors, the raffle donators and of course all of the volunteers who helped to put on the event. A fun night was had by all, and special Congrats to our winners! Hope to see you all next time.

We are really hoping to add some more teams to our Trivia night on April 18th. If you're interested or know of anyone who might be. It really is a lot of fun! Please support our program.
