🏁BLUEPRINTS TO BURNOUTS🏁
➡️MEET THE DRIVERS

First up: Bobby Tolton, Head Driver for JDSS "The Rogue Trojan"

🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
My name is Bobby Tolton, and I am a 34-year-old father of three: Chase (12), Landon (10), and Ava (7). I am happily married to my wife, Stephanie. I am the primary driver of the #13 Nissan Sentra, representing the JDSS Trojans.

I have been a part of the racing environment my entire life, but I have been racing myself since 2005, at the age of 13. I started my racing journey in the Mini Stock division at Varney Speedway, where I competed for two years, winning Rookie of the Year honors and finishing 3rd in the points standings both years. In my third year, we traveled to compete full-time in the Mini Stock division at Peterborough Speedway, finishing 6th in the standings. The year 2008 saw us return to Varney Speedway, where I moved up to compete in the Late Model division. I was awarded Rookie of the Year honors, as well as finishing 6th in the standings. From 2009 through 2012, I ran part-time in various cars with no long-term commitments. In 2013, I purchased an open-wheel modified, where I competed for two years with the newly formed OSCAAR Modified tour, traveling to tracks across Ontario. These two seasons didn't produce very good results, but I learned a tremendous amount. In 2015, I returned to Varney (renamed Full Throttle at this point) to chase a championship in the Mini Stock division. We eventually finished second in the standings and received the Best Appearing Car award. In 2016, I made a move to run some races as part of the Ontario Sportsman Series, where we saw some glimmers of success before the end of the season. 2017 saw me make a bold move to build a dirt track Mini Stock and compete full-time at Ohsweken Speedway, as well as travel to other dirt tracks in Ontario. We ended up 6th in the standings and were awarded the Best Appearing Car award. From 2018–2020, I ran part-time on both asphalt and dirt surfaces. In 2021, I stepped away from the driving role to watch my oldest start driving himself in the Jr. Late Models. We eventually purchased a second car, and in 2022, both Chase and Landon competed full-time at Sauble Speedway. In 2023, we made the move back to Full Throttle Speedway to run what would be the boys' last year in Jr. Late Models. At the end of 2023, we sold everything we had left and stepped away from racing to enjoy our summers elsewhere. In 2026, we are back full-time in the Bone Stock division to chase that elusive championship as part of the Blueprints to Burnouts program!

Outside of racing, I am a proud Red Seal Ironworker. As ironworkers, we are part of a skilled trades network that works to build and sustain the infrastructure that is so important to our day-to-day lives.

I am one of the founding members of the Blueprints to Burnouts program, and I believe this program stands to benefit so many people along the way to the end goal. As a blue-collar worker myself, I know from my own path how important proper guidance is to developing a skilled workforce. All of our students should be given the tools, opportunities, and education to show them that the trades aren't just a backup plan, but a good, honest career path that our country depends on. This program helps provide that, as well as rewarding hard work with grants at the end of the year to help with public funding shortfalls and put resources into the students' classrooms.
