On May 26-28 schools throughout the Prairie Land School Division sent representatives to Castle Mountain Forest Area to harvest tipi poles for the school divisions new outdoor learning space. With the poles dried, our Siksikaitsitapi (Blackfoot) Elder, Saa'kokoto, helped us construct one tipi at the Outdoor Learning Space in Youngstown on June 24. Raising the tipi was an incredible learning experience and a meaningful opportunity to connect with Indigenous knowledge and traditions. Thank you to Ms. Baier and crew for all of your hard work in helping to create this wonderful experience for all of us to learn from and share with the continued growth of the outdoor learning space.
