Happy Summer! Just wanted to pass along a great music resource site:
http://www.musictheory.net/ is a great online resource for music learners. It provides a series of short lessons that go over both basic and advanced principles of music theory. Itās available for free online and works with most internet browsers. Thereās also an iPad app you can purchase and download for more features and offline use.
I also like that it is customizable. Say you want your child to practice reading the notes E, F, and G on the treble staff by letter name. You can click on the Note Identification exercise, then click the settings button in the upper right corner, and set the treble range to just E, F, and G.
It's a great review for those that struggle with certain theory concepts. Check out the website at your convenience try out some of the lessons & exercises. Thanks!

Happy Snow Day everyone!!
Just a reminder that there are no lessons today due to the schools being closed... Although if I look out now, it's pretty calm. Since both of my kids have school projects to work on.. I am the "bad parent" today trying to get them working on them.
I may also contact a few parents to see about a make-up lesson this afternoon. Take Care & enjoy your day!

Snow Day! Looks beautiful out there! Schools are cancelled today, so lessons are as well.
Take it easy and maybe practice a song before you head out to play in the snow! š see you next week!
Happy New Year! - It's been so long since I've posted on my page, so I thought I'd post the email I sent you all this week in case you haven't seen it! :-)
After a wonderfully refreshing holiday, it is absolutely delightful to have your children back again! And I have to admit...I tickled the ivory a few times over the break, but with spending time with family & friends, cooking, eating, and overall enjoying Christmas, I too, am guilty of little playing & practice time.
I wanted to take the time before we start 2016 to thank each and every one of you for your efforts this past fall. Being a āpiano parentā is a big commitment, and I am so fortunate to be connected with families who see the immense value of music. Learning to play piano can be a life-changing experience and Iām humbled that you have chosen me to be a part of this exciting gift that you continue to give your children.
Iāve spent some of my holiday time planning the second part of lessons and we will be working towards new books, new songs, and recital pieces for the June end of season recital!
Keep an eye on your childās notebook each week as I often write on areas that may need extra practice, or tips to help them with their pieces.
Seeing your children grow, improve and learn to love music is truly the most rewarding part of this for me. In the past year, I saw confidence, progress, creativity, and pride! These are invaluable skills that they will carry with them for the rest of their lives. What a gift to your children⦠what a gift to yourselves to experience ⦠and what a gift for me to be a part of!
Thanks to all of my piano families! See you soon!!
Hello again! Just a reminder that I am firming up my schedule and sending out lesson times this week. If you have not received an email or phone call from me regarding your child's time, please let me know via email or phone.
Lessons start the week AFTER school begins - Sept 14th.
Looking forward to another great year of piano!
Happy August to all of my students! I can't believe that we are only a month away from school starting! Summer always seems to fly by! Hope you are all enjoying the warm weather.
I am still organizing my new piano times for this year since it looks like I will have to work around another busy schedule. :-(
Hopefully.. I may be adding some "evening" times during the week to make up for some of my days and for some of my older students. I will be emailing each of you soon with my available times , however, I do have a wait list, so if for some reason, you already know that your child is NOT returning this year, please let me know. Thank-you.
Can't wait to see everyone again !
Enjoy the rest of your summer!
Thank you all for coming to our first recital on Sunday! I was so proud of all my students. Once we get past performing for others for the first time then each time it gets a little easier. And they did great!!
I also want to thank everyone for bringing such yummy treats! I was able to bring the extras home with me & I'm enjoying them a little too much! ;-)
Thanks for a wonderful year of music! Hope you all have a safe & happy summer! āļø
I'll be in touch about any changes in my Fall lesson schedule.
Hi Piano Parents! Just wanted to send a note to let you know that I am planning my Year End recital for Sunday, June 7th. I have to confirm the time for sure, but keep an eye out in your child's piano binder this week to find out the details!!
It's an informal recital, and I ask that you bring a little treat so that we can all enjoy some snacks after the children play their pieces.
It was going to be here at my house, but I am now planning a kitchen reno, and It looks like it will be underway in early June, so I've moved it to be at St. Paul's Presbyterian Church on Main St. in Hampton where we will have more room.
More details to follow - - Please encourage your child to practice their songs in the next few weeks so that they will feel comfortable with them.
