The BSA invites you all to attend the Black Student Mentorship Program (BSMP) faculty office hours at the Black Student Success Centre (BSSC). These informal drop-in sessions are open to all Black students who want to connect with faculty, ask questions about courses, explore research opportunities, or seek guidance on academic and career paths. The sessions provide a supportive environment to build mentorship relationships and engage with faculty committed to student success. Faculty office hours are held bi-weekly throughout the academic year, and no appointment is necessary — just stop by and take advantage of this opportunity to connect, learn, and grow.

Black and Bold is back!! Join us for the opening night on August 8th at Centre [3] at 6-10PM during Art Crawl. Performances will take place at 126 James St N. Open from August 8th-30th

Black and Bold; Notions of Blackness constructs narratives of Black identity through various expressions of Black joy and celebration, and through internal and external confrontations of Blackness. Based on two prior shows organized by McMaster University’s Black Student Association in honour of Black History Month, artists navigate Blackness beyond the month, creating space for open and active dialogue through visual arts, written word, and performance.”

The Honourable Jean Augustine is a politician, educator, and social justice advocate who has shaped Canada’s political and cultural landscape. As the first black woman elected to the House of Commons, she has led initiatives to advance education, gender equity, and immigrant rights. Among her many contributions, she championed the motion to officially recognize Black History Month in Canada, advocated for the inclusion of women in leadership, and worked to strengthen policies on porty reduction and social justice. Her dedication to community empowerment and social change continues to inspire generations.
