🌎 Today, GHAR recognizes World Patient Safety Day 2026.

This year’s focus on safe care for noncommunicable diseases reminds us that patient safety extends far beyond the hospital. From prevention and diagnosis to treatment, long-term management, and self-care, safety must remain at the centre of every stage of the care journey.

Creating safer care requires collaboration among healthcare teams, patients, families, researchers, and health systems, as well as continued attention to access, equity, education, and evidence-informed practice.

At Global Health: Annual Review (GHAR), we believe knowledge can contribute to safer healthcare. Through open access, we help global health research, insights, and perspectives be seen, shared, and heard, supporting knowledge exchange and emerging scholarship.

Because advancing patient safety also means advancing the knowledge that informs it.
