Every day, I see older adults use technology to do something meaningful: connect with loved ones, manage their health, or simply feel more confident navigating the digital world.
And when people work with me, they’re not looking for a chatbot or online guides. They’re looking for a human who can sit beside them, listen, and help them use technology in a way that feels comfortable and empowering.
That's why I'm making a small shift that feels completely aligned with the work I do and the way people already know me. My business is now officially named Talk to a Human Inc.
It’s already how people refer to me. It's my website URL and email. It's even what ended up on my name tag at a recent business leaders roundtable.
This name reflects what clients value most: a real conversation and a friendly guide who helps them use technology as a tool for the things they want to accomplish.

I can’t believe it’s already June 30th. What an incredible it’s been!
Across events, workshops, and even those spontaneous grocery‑store conversations, I’ve met some of the kindest professionals in community care and seniors services. I’ve also worked with clients who are genuinely excited about the progress they’re making with digital tools. Watching everyday tasks become easier as new tech skills click into place has filled my cup.
One impromptu exchange reinforced my belief that learning new technology is most powerful when it happens in person, through real conversation.
While printing some learning materials at a local shop, I met a woman who was brand new to QR codes and the self‑serve photo kiosk. As I guided her through the steps, we ended up chatting about summer plans, our shared love of dogs, and how family photos can brighten any fridge.
I ran into her again this week, and she told me she’s now printing her own photos, and even used a QR code to access a restaurant menu. It completely made my day!
If we’ve met at a conference, fair, or even at a checkout line this month—thank you. Every conversation builds community and gives me new insight into how I can better support older adults with technology.

It was a pleasure to join fellow business leaders from across Hamilton this morning to share ideas for the City of Hamilton's next 𝐀𝐠𝐞‑𝐅𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐥𝐲 & 𝐃𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐚‑𝐈𝐧𝐜𝐥𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐧 (2027–2031).
Together with business owners, community partners, and non‑profit organizations, we explored opportunities, challenges, and practical ways to build a more age‑friendly and dementia‑inclusive city.
At every age‑friendly and intergenerational event I attend in Hamilton, I’m reminded of how collaborative and committed this community is. Today’s conversation was wide‑ranging, thoughtful, and energizing. I look forward to more in the coming months.

I had the pleasure of leading a technology café at Amica Senior Lifestyles Bronte Harbour this week.
We didn’t just talk about devices — we explored experiences, challenges, and the real ways technology shapes daily life. Residents shared feedback on accessibility and design, highlighting how essential intergenerational perspectives are to building tech that truly works for everyone. One standout discussion centered on smartphone font sizes and the impact when larger text pushes information off‑screen or when apps don’t support font scaling at all.
If we want technology that serves everyone, we need everyone at the table. Our tech café proved exactly that.
Thank you for having me, ! I'm glad I could contribute and learn alongside you.

I spent a wonderful morning yesterday at Amica Senior Lifestyles Bayview Gardens, leading an introductory talk and café on the world of artificial intelligence — and I left feeling inspired.
We talked about where AI shows up in everyday life, how to stay safe online, and the strengths and weaknesses of the AI tools many of us are starting to explore. But the best part was the dialogue. The residents brought thoughtful questions, sharp observations, and personal stories that made the session richer than any slide deck ever could.
Our tech café afterwards was full of energy — everyone sharing ideas about how AI might support independence, creativity, and connection. Also where there might be concerns around data privacy.
A heartfelt thank you to the team and residents at for having me. I learned just as much as I shared.
