What a weekend for SMU debate at Atlantics 2026! The Angus Mancini-Miller and Samuel MacQuarrie won the Novice Finals under the “SMU birds of war” to take home the title of novice champions at Atlantics 2026! Angus and Sam participated in 8 rounds of debate to decide the final win! Sam was awarded the third best novice speaker in the tournament, which is an amazing accomplishment for two new debaters in the circuit! Props to Khoi and Owen who competed on Saturday and performed amazingly!! Congratulations to all of our participants, we are beyond proud!

Put your debating pants on and come to LA273 at 6 PM for practice. We will also be giving info on the upcoming tournament at UNB. See you soon!!

Yesterday, SMU debate hosted the last practice of the 2024-2025 academic year. Thank you to all who attended.
Thank you to our 2024-2025 exec team: Pavak Khurana, Cydney Carruthers, Kavya Shah, and Jessica Graham and to all of our members and debaters!! We can not wait for another great year.
Practices will continue to take place over the summer so stay tuned for more information and details!!
Good luck on your finals and we can not wait to resume fully in September!
