On September 30, the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, we pause to honour Residential School Survivors, remember the children who never returned home, and recognize the lasting impacts on First Nations, Inuit and Métis families and communities.

At ISANS, this day is an opportunity to listen, learn and reflect on the history and lived experiences of Indigenous Peoples, and to consider how we can contribute to relationships grounded in respect, understanding and belonging.

As we share these moments from across our ISANS offices and teams, we recognize that building understanding and belonging is an ongoing journey one that calls for reflection, respect and collective action.

Helping You Settle with Confidence!

Starting a new life in a new country can be both exciting and challenging. ISANS' Settlement Support Program is here to help registered clients navigate important aspects of settlement, including housing, health care, finances, government benefits, school registration, and connections to community services.

Our team provides information and orientation to help newcomers successfully settle in Nova Scotia. We support clients in communicating with government, community, and service providers, accessing the resources they need, and connecting with other ISANS services.

Eligible clients include Permanent Residents, Canada–Ukraine Authorization for Emergency Travel (CUAET) visa holders, Atlantic Immigration Program (AIP) nominees and their dependents, Refugee Claimants, Nova Scotia Nominees, and their dependents.
