Happy Pride Month!
ISANS is a leading community organization that welcomes immigrants to Nova Scotia. We are the largest immigrant-serving agency in Atlantic Canada.
ISANS was created by the merger of Metropolitan Immigrant Settlement Association (MISA) and Halifax Immigrant Learning Centre (HILC) – together we have a combined experience of over fifty years serving immigrants in Nova Scotia. We offer services in an inclusive manner, respectful of, and sensitive to, diversity. We make partnership, professionalism and accountability a priority in every aspect of our work.

At ISANS, we had an amazing evening with participants from the 2SLGBTQIA+ community for our art-based activity. This group is co-facilitated by ISANS and Rainbow Refugee Association of Nova Scotia (RRANS) staff as part of the Well-being for All project.
Among our activities we had the Tree of life where participants explored different aspects of personal identity, including past experiences, future goals, strengths, and support systems. Through creative reflection and discussion, participants have the opportunity to recognize their resilience, celebrate their achievements, and strengthen their sense of belonging.
The group meets twice a month on Wednesday evenings, providing a welcoming and supportive space for connection, self-expression, and community building.
