This week on Glimmers, we meet Science Communicator, Ive. We dive deep into themes of belonging, values, and she recommends some amazing books that have helped shape her experiences.
"I've often felt like I belong in communities. I'm very extroverted, I love people. I always love being around people. And that's where I felt like I belong, it's been a challenge to feel belonging with myself, which sounds very deep. And I suppose it is. It's been challenging to feel confident in who I am, outside of others, because I am so excited about other people and communities. One thing that's been on my mind a lot lately is like belonging within myself, and like being true to myself." -Ive
Y'all, Ive takes out her note book and reads through her self reflection. We are HERE FOR IT.

In the Glimmers Podcast we asked Mo: Do you have any memories or moments you can recall where you met yourself? Where you just thought ‘Well, there I am or there's a new part of me.’
Mo described two beautiful moments:
🌊 “I had an underwater photography housing system so I could go underwater and play and learn how to take pictures and just have fun mostly. I would dive under the water and lay as far as I could, close to the sand and take a selfie of myself underwater.
I think one of my favorite things in the whole world that I've ever experienced, has been swimming to the bottom of the ocean where I am and turning around and looking up to the surface. It really kind of takes me out of my own body and to just be able to breathe and be underwater like that is transforming in and of itself.”
🖼 “About two years ago, My partner helped me shave off all of my hair. They took some portraits of me afterward. And looking at those pictures of myself made me really feel joy about seeing a photo of myself and coming into always transforming and moving around that space of my gender identity and expression.”
