The Haliburton Society meets every other Wednesday to read and discuss texts based on a chosen theme. Everyone is welcome to attend the event, regardless of whether they chose to read or listen to others. The Haliburton Society was founded in 1884 and is the oldest literary society on a college campus in North America.

If you haven't seen this already, this year's Alex Fountain Memorial Lecture is this Wednesday at 6:30pm in Alumni Hall!
Anne Carson & Robert Currie are presenting their "Lecture on the History of Skywriting," and you should all come! It'll be amazing!

We're so excited to be doing something a little bit different this week! In collaboration with the residence team, Haliburton is hosting an evening in the library with Professor John Barnstead!
Professor Barnstead is a master poet, both in terms of his own work and his memory for the work of others. He shows us just how profound poetry can be and how humble we all are in the face of true art.
While everyone is invited, upper years please remember to welcome first years into the space!

We were so excited to be at the Society Fair yesterday and especially loved getting to meet so many new faces! Keep your eyes on this page - Haliburton is gearing up for the year and we can't wait to keep you posted on all of our exciting events!

Hey Folks!
Come on down to the winter society fair tonight until 8PM and then join us in the SCR at 8PM for our first meeting of the year on the theme "Furry Friends and Bizarre Beasts"
Thank you to everyone who managed to come out to Frivols last night! That was the last minute of the semester, but we can't wait to see all of you again next semester when we come back with more great meetings for all of you.
