🥋 Congratulations to our CASK Karate Halifax karatekas!
Last week, approximately 30 students from our kids and adult classes tested for and were awarded new mudansha ranks (under black belt). We are so proud of everyone’s hard work, focus, perseverance, and growth on the dojo floor.
Graduations are an important milestone, but they are also a reminder that each new rank is another step forward in training. Congratulations to all who graded, and keep up the great work!
A special thank you to Lead Instructor Taryn Baldwin Nidan for their leadership, guidance, and continued commitment to the dojo, and to all of the senior ranks and black belts who supported the classes and graduations.
Well done, everyone! 👏🥋

We are incredibly proud of one of our youth students, Ellie.
Ellie was recently nominated by her teachers for Dreams Take Flight, an amazing recognition of her positive attitude and the meaningful contributions she makes to her school community.
Through Dreams Take Flight Atlantic, Ellie will be part of a truly special experience. Each year, this incredible organization takes over 140 deserving children from across Atlantic Canada to Walt Disney World in Orlando for a trip of a lifetime.
This opportunity is about more than just the destination. It celebrates character, kindness, and the impact young people can have on those around them. Ellie embodies all of these qualities, and we could not be more excited for her.
Congratulations, Ellie. Your hard work, positivity, and spirit truly stand out. We are cheering you on every step of the way.

We love training on Saturday mornings! Today’s class was excellent and led by one of our newest black belts, Sam Shapiro Shodan! Ru Boutillier Shodan led an engaging junior class on Thursday night as well. Well done, we are proud of you both! 🥋👊

We had a fantastic “Bring a Friend” Night at karate this week 👊
Students brought friends, family, and colleagues onto the floor to try out some basic techniques in a fun, supportive environment. Lots of smiles, great energy, and a chance for everyone to experience karate firsthand.
The best part? Karate truly is for everyone...no experience needed, just a willingness to give it a try.
Thanks to everyone who came out and made it such a great night. Our community keeps growing, one class at a time 🙂
