The Council of Canadian Departments of Psychology (CCDP) annually recognizes outstanding teaching assistants across Canada.

We are delighted to announce that Megan Hurd is this year’s recipient for the Psychology Department at Saint Mary’s University.

Megan earned this recognition through her professionalism and exceptional mentorship of undergraduate students in Introduction to Industrial and Organizational Psychology during the Winter term. Congratulations, Megan, and thank you for your commitment to supporting our students.

Majors, minors, honours, and certificate students from both the Faculties of Arts and Science—along with Master’s and PhD graduates—crossed the stage during Convocation last week. In total,148 students from the Department of Psychology received their degrees.

Congratulations to all of our graduates on this remarkable achievement, and thank you to the staff and faculty whose support, mentorship, and dedication helped make it possible.

SMU was well-represented at the recent Science Atlantic Psychology conference at Memorial University in St. John’s Newfoundland. Congratulations to all presenters, especially Dylan Martin, who won the Science Communication award for his poster presentation on “Awe, Beaty, and Meaning in Life.” SMU Science
