Such an incredible night celebrating the 30 year Anniversary of Janice and Heather - 30 years at PGHCC. Wow, 1995 was a great hiring year!
It takes some very specific traits to get to 30 years of service and dedication; not only to a career, but a very specialized field like Early Childhood Education and then the patience and personal growth that has to occur for it all to happen at one place - PGHCC! This is truly a remarkable milestone to be celebrated and admired.
Janice and Heather you both bring not just passion but a true love of the work, you rise above, speak the truth, stay true to your values and beliefs and your level of dedication and willingness to always step up brings the honesty and integrity needed to be here 30 years!
Thank you and I admire you both as women, co-workers, ECE's and advocates for children and families - thanks for letting me be along for the ride. Looking forward to celebrating 35 next 😀

Hello PGHCC Families.
So happy to announce that we will be open tomorrow.
Thanks to all the staff who boiled, carried and prepped water storage today so we can open and operate a safe environment for our children tomorrow -
Shout out to Denise and Emily for searching out bottled water in the HRM.
The prize for hitting the bottled water jackpot goes to Esther and Kritika who scored over 700 bottles!

Today we celebrate and congratulate 2 of PGHCC's awesome ECE's - Denisha and Kadian on their Graduation from the NSCC Africentric ECE program!
They are now Level II ECE's and we are so proud of their hardwork and dedication.

Hello All,

Unfortunately, The Centre will be closed today, February 14th, following the large snowfall that occurred over night.

Currently the Halifax Transit buses are not running leaving so many staff no way of getting to work.

Roads, highways and sidewalks are going to take time to clear and are currently not safe for those walking or travelling by vehicles.

All Public Schools in the HRM are closed as well as Dalhousie University.

Please be safe during your clean up and we will see you tomorrow.

Hello PGHCC Families,

Unfortunately, due to the severe winter storm that has brought heavy snowfall and winds to the HRM along with the continued warnings and forecasted snow through tonight and tomorrow - the Centre will remain closed tomorrow, Monday Feb. 5th.

Although this is never an easy decision - the current treacherous conditions and continued forecast of snow accumulation, blowing snow and the advisory to avoid travel by the police and emergency operations make this the right call.

We always ere on side of safety for our families, children and staff that have to drive, walk or travel by public transportation.

Thank you for your dedication, hardwork and your kind, caring, heartfelt love you bring to the children and families everyday!

After carefully monitoring the winter storm and snowfall forecasts for tonight and overnight, PGHCC will be closed Friday March 3rd.
The Halifax Transit Bus Service has announced a Service Suspension for buses and ferries from 10:00pm March 2nd to 10:00am March 3rd.
Due to the forecasted 20-30cms of snow, winter storm advisory and windy conditions expected into Friday morning and with no public transportation available we will be closed for the day.
Thank you always for you patience and understanding.
Stay safe and we hope you can get out and enjoy the snow day once the nasty weather subsides.
