Our Story

The Confucius Institute at Saint Mary's University is a non-profit organization dedicated to the promotion of Chinese language, culture, commerce, and studies. It is a joint venture between the Office of Chinese Language Council International (Hanban), Xiamen University, and Saint Mary's University.

Opening in the fall of 2011, the Confucius Institute at Saint Mary's will serve not only the students and faculty of Saint Mary's University but also the broader community within the Halifax Regional Municipality and eventually the entirety of the province of Nova Scotia.

Saint Mary's Confucius Institute is the eighth in Canada and can be found in the recently renovated McNally Building (MM205).
