π Welcome to the Team, Lydia! π
Gymnastics Nova Scotia is excited to welcome Lydia Doyle as our Summer Student for 2026!
Many in our gymnastics community may already know Lydia from her years as a competitive gymnast at Taiso Gymnastics Club, where she now works as a coach. Beyond gymnastics, Lydia is also actively involved in Ringette as both a player and coach and was recognized as a True Sport Athlete Ambassador in 2024.
Lydia has recently completed her second year in the Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology program at Dalhousie University and brings a strong passion for sport, leadership, and community engagement to her new role.
We are thrilled to have Lydia join the GNS team and look forward to the energy, enthusiasm, and expertise she will bring to our programs and events this summer!
Please join us in giving Lydia a warm welcome! ππ€ΈββοΈπ

Weβd also love to acknowledge the MAG Opens at the Canadian Championships this past week!
A true team. The Open National boys competed Wednesday for Team/All Around Finals and then Friday for Apparatus finals. Some stats:
- placed 5th out of 7 teams in Team Finals just behind Ontario, with every athlete contributing a score to the total
- Eric Dupuy had the highest All Around and all scores counting for the team
- Meer Patel was the closest to podium earning 4th on Parallel Bars (just 0.033 off!)
- Jeremy Pitts and Vincent CΓ΄tΓ© were strong contributors on Floor and Vault
- Panayiotis Philopoulos received our highest pommel horse score for the Team

πͺ Canadian Championships β MAG Senior National
Heβs alright, folks!
After qualifying for four Apparatus Finals, Evan Huber returned to compete on Floor, but to protect his ankle, he did not continue in the Rings, Vault and Parallel Bars finals. While not the finish he had hoped for, qualifying to four event finals at the Canadian Championships is an accomplishment to be proud of. A thank you to our sport med staff, Dr. Kira Swan for her on-site support during Nationals!
Congratulations, Evan, on a strong championship and all of your efforts this week.
