We nourish the inherent goodness, curiosity and creative nature of each child within an uplifted academic and social environment. Hydrostone Academy offers an inclusive, age-appropriate approach to education that integrates arts and academics to ignite a genuine passion for learning. Our unique curriculum inspires students to grow into confident, creative thinkers with a strong sense of social and environmental awareness. It is our experience that nearly 100% of our graduates get into a university or other post-secondary program of their choice. Many alumni proceed to successful careers as scientists, musicians, lawyers, artists, business leaders and more. Diversity Statement

The Hydrostone Academy works toward building a community that is diverse and inclusive across race, gender, age, religion, identity, and experience. We strive to support the 2SLGBTQI+ community by providing a safe space for staff, students, and families and by educating our students about issues surrounding gender and identity in a developmentally appropriate way. We recognize and honour diverse gender identities and aim to create an environment in which trans, non-binary, and other gender-creative children and families are respected, represented, and celebrated.

Our littlest learners in the first gym class! Our Primary program is thoughtfully designed around our core values, weaving foundational learning and holistic growth into every part of the day. In Primary, “gym class” is called “Petit Mouvement”. Led by our gym teacher Mr. Burns, children build balance, coordination, confidence, and body awareness through active, joyful movement in French.

The halls are alive again, and Hydrostone Academy officially feels like home. 🏫✨
There is something truly special about the first day back. Beyond the new supplies and fresh beginnings, today reminded us of what makes Hydrostone such a beautiful community: our shared belief that connection comes first.
Building a strong, supportive environment doesn’t happen by accident—it happens through celebration, ceremony, and the intentional moments that bring us together. Seeing our students, families, and staff gather today set the exact right tone for the months ahead.
It was beyond wonderful to have everyone back in the building today. Here’s to a vibrant, inspiring, and connected new school year! 💙

Hands-on learning at its freshest! 🥬🍎
Our Little Chefs had an absolute blast on our field trip to today! Learning about local cooking starts with understanding where our food comes from, and today our campers got to see, smell, and learn all about the amazing produce grown right here in Nova Scotia and what comes from away.
It was the perfect inspiration for our upcoming kitchen creations. 👩‍🍳👨‍🍳
A huge THANK YOU to the team at Warehouse Market for welcoming our eager young foodies, sharing your knowledge, and supporting the next generation of local chefs. We can’t wait to turn these fresh ingredients into delicious meals! 🌽✨
