As part of the Sustainable Ocean Conference 2024, our organizing committee looked to raise money through fundraising events to support committee organizations. We are excited to announce that we have raised $860 this year to donate toward the Canadian Maritime Heritage Foundation and support the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic’s Boat School and boat building initiatives. Their work promotes education, environmental stewardship, and community engagement through a three day workshop on traditional boat building that spurs hands-on and community-based learning.

We’re pleased to announce that our last (but certainly not least!) panel speaker for Sustainable Ocean Conference 2024: Tides of Tomorrow will be Leah McConney! Leah is an Oceans Biologist in the Marine Planning and Conservation Program at Fisheries and Oceans Canada in the Maritimes Region. She is passionate about managing and creating marine conservation areas. 💙
