One last year. One more trip to remember. ❤️🏕️
Last week, our Grade 12 students spent two days at Brigadoon Village, an annual Sacred Heart tradition built around outdoor adventure, team-building, and time together away from the classroom.
From canoeing and archery to games, challenges, and plenty of laughs in between, Brigadoon gives students the chance to test themselves, rely on one another, and simply enjoy being together.

For the Class of 2027, that feels a little different this year. These are the moments that start to mean more when you know they’re part of your final chapter at Sacred Heart.

On Wednesday, October 7, the AARAO University Fair returns to the Fred George Gym, bringing university representatives together in one place for our students to explore programs, ask questions, and start thinking about what comes next.

Grade 12s and their parents are invited from 9:30–10:30 a.m., followed by Grades 10 and 11.
Parents are encouraged to drop by and be part of the conversation too.

Sometimes the landscape becomes part of the lesson. 🌊🥾
Last week, our Grade 10 CAMP 10 students spent the day at Taylor Head Provincial Park, following a coastal trail that ended on the beach.

Outdoor learning gives students a different kind of space to think, notice, adapt, and learn through experience. With the ocean beside them and a beautiful day overhead, this was a pretty good place to do exactly that.

Stories have a way of making history feel closer.
This morning, Mercedes Peters of the Mi’kmawey Debert Cultural Centre joined our Senior School and shared stories of Glooscap, offering students a deeper look at Mi’kmaw history, culture, and storytelling.

As we approach the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation and Mi’kmaq History Month, her visit gave our students time to listen, reflect, and continue learning together.

Our Senior Boys Soccer team faced Sommet last week and battled to a 2–2 draw.
Plenty of fight, plenty of chances, and a strong team effort right through the final whistle. Another good test early in the season, with more to build on from here.

Tough games are part of the season. What matters is how you respond. ⚽🦈

Our Junior Girls Soccer team faced Armbrae on September 23 and kept pushing right through the final whistle.

There’s plenty of season ahead, and every match is another chance to grow, adjust, and come back stronger. We’re behind you, Sharks.

Behind the lens again was Hudson, back for his second game as our Junior Soccer team photographer. He’s already showing a strong instinct for catching the moments that matter, and we’re excited to keep watching his photography grow alongside the teams he’s covering. 📸

Some lessons are better learned with a surfboard. 🏄🌊

With two trips to Lawrencetown Beach already this season, our Surf Club has been making the most of the September waves.

Perfect conditions on both September 16 and 22 gave students the chance to challenge themselves, learn something new, and have plenty of fun along the way.

A great reminder that stepping outside your comfort zone can lead to some of the best memories.

A proud and meaningful moment for Sacred Heart School of Halifax. ❤️

Yesterday, our community gathered to celebrate the installation of Robert Marchand as Head of School, marking an important new chapter in the 2026-27 School Year.

The liturgy reflected on peace, faith, and our shared responsibility to support one another — a message that connects naturally with this year’s school theme, “Raising the Bar by Working Together.” As we strive to grow and do better, we’re reminded that we do this best through trust, collaboration, being peaceful, and a strong sense of community.

We’re grateful to Fr. Craig Cameron of Good Shepherd Parish for presiding over the liturgy and helping us mark this special occasion.

Congratulations, Mr. Marchand! We are delighted to celebrate your installation and look forward to all that lies ahead with you as our Head of School.

There’s something different about exploring a city when it’s the place you’re learning to call home. 🌊

Last week, our international and EAL students got to know Halifax from both land and water aboard the Harbour Hopper, taking in local landmarks, history, and a little more of the city beyond campus.

For students who are new to Halifax, days like this are part of the experience — a chance to explore, ask questions, make memories, and start feeling more connected to the place around them.

Picture Day checklist: best smile, tidy uniform, quick hair check… and try not to blink. 📸😄

Yesterday was Photo Day for our Elementary and Senior Schools, capturing another year of familiar faces and growing students.

This one was especially meaningful for Grade 6, marking their last Elementary School Photo Day before Junior High, and for Grade 12, who posed for their final Sacred Heart school photos.

Some pictures end up in a yearbook. Some become the ones you look back on years later and wonder where the time went. ❤️
