𝐁𝐮𝐬 𝐓𝐫𝐢𝐩 𝐓𝐨 𝐖𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐭 ☀️🚌

This morning the Green Explorers had a great time exploring our Halifax Waterfront!!

We started with a bus ride to Scotia Square mall, walked along the Pedways and through the Halifax Marriott Hotel, then watched the Halifax Ferry make its way over to Dartmouth, then walked along the beautiful waterfront to the Rise Again Steps, explored the Maritime Museum Of The Atlantic Play Ship, and stopped to see some boats in the water!! 🌊 🛥️

As a surprise, we were treated to a Cows Ice Cream treat!!! 🍦

What a great morning we had!! ☀️

A huge thank you to everyone who came out to support our centre — families, staff, community members, and friends. We would also like to give a special thank you to Beth and the Wee Cares Board for all of their hard work and support in making this evening such a success! 👏✨
Each classroom was open and beautifully set up for families and community members to explore and enjoy. It was wonderful to see everyone walking through the centre, sharing conversations, learning about the classroom environments, meeting educators, and enjoying pizza and drinks together 🍕🥤🏫
The evening was filled with connection, laughter, and community spirit, and we are so grateful to everyone who helped make it such a memorable event ❤️

𝑺𝒑𝒍𝒊𝒔𝒉, 𝒔𝒑𝒍𝒂𝒔𝒉, 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒔𝒖𝒏𝒔𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒆! ☀️💦

Today our infants and preschoolers enjoyed the beautiful weather with lots of water play, exploring, and teamwork. From scooping and squeezing to splashing and sharing, the children had so much fun cooling off and learning through play together! 🌈🫧🩵

Just A Reminder That Wee Care will be closed 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗠𝗮𝘆 𝟭𝟴𝘁𝗵, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲! We will be back open on 𝗧𝘂𝗲𝘀𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗠𝗮𝘆 𝟭𝟵𝘁𝗵, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 ! 🌈

Today the children in the Blue Discoverers room planted sunflower seeds in the pots they painted with thumb prints this week. A teacher put soil in a container with a shovel and then one by one let the children come and fill there pot with soil. Once it was halfway full, the teacher got them to drop in a sunflower seed. Then they added more soil on top. The teachers and children talked about how if they planted a sunflower seed it would someday grow into a flower with lots of love,soil, sun and water. During the next couple days we are going to continue water them and watch them grow together ❤️💙🌻

Bridge Over Halifax Waters 🌉

The Green Explorers had a great morning walking a different way around our neighbourhood which took us over to the Halifax MacDonald Bridge!

We loved seeing the bridge come into view, the boats in the water, and even got to see some workers fixing the bridge when we walked under it. We used great listening ears, and walked a bit independently then joined hands and walked in pairs for the last bit.

If you’ve been meaning to come, this is truly the one time of year where families and community members can fully explore the whole centre. It’s a great chance to step outside your child’s classroom, see other spaces, and meet more of the incredible Wee Care team! 💕

And yes, there will be free pizza and drinks, so dinner is taken care of! 🍕🍹

𝐋𝐞𝐭’𝐬 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐲 𝐒𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐁𝐚𝐬𝐞𝐛𝐚𝐥𝐥 ⚾️

The Green Explorers were channeling their inner Blue Jay Player this morning with our T-Ball Set!! The children waited for their turn and helped place the ball on top for the next friend!!

We Are Ready For Spring Training 2027!!⚾️

Splat painting with hammers and bubble wrap! 🎨🫟🔨

This activity is not only sensory rich but also mess free. It combines color exploration, fine motor skills and creative expression. The yellow room children watched as the paint splattered underneath the bubble wrap as they hit it with the hammers. Many of the children observed that when they popped the bubbles, it made a snapping sound. The children would reiterate “I can make it snap!” as they continued to pop as many bubbles as they could!

Chalk paint! 🎨

Chalk paint is a simple yet fun activity for the children to do while playing on the deck. Chalk paint is also very easy to make. It’s made of cornstarch, water and food coloring. The yellow classroom had a lot of fun mixing the colors and painting the deck, making little masterpieces one splash of color at a time! 🖼️
