A mi gato le encanta la camisa que recibió para Navidad.

My cat loves the shirt he received for Christmas.

We put {A mi gato} to clarify who we are talking about.

{Le encanta} could refer to anybody.

If we were already talking about the cat then we can leave off {A mi gato}

If would simply be:
Le encanta la camisa que recibió para Navidad

Recibió is the past tense of recibir. He/she/it received = recibió

José recibió buenas noticias.
José received good news.

It is the perfect Christmas gift.

There is a reindeer in the forest.

Los renos son agresivos.
Reindeer are aggressive.

Quiero un reno como mascota.
I want a reindeer as a pet.

Necesitamos buscar un árbol de Navidad.
We need to find a Christmas tree.

El árbol de Navidad que tenemos es viejo.
The Christmas tree we have is old.

Vamos a comprar un árbol de Navidad artificial.
We are going to buy an artificial Christmas tree.

Intermediate:
Es un arbolito de Navidad.
It is a little Christmas tree.

Árbol changes to arbolito and the accent mark disappears as the stress of pronunciation is on second to last syllable LI. ar-bo-LI-to

Papá Noel - Santa Claus

Papá - father

Noel - Christmas

Papá Noel = Father Christmas

¿Viste a Papá Noel en el centro comercial?
Did you see Santa Claus at the mall?

Sí, vi a Papá Noel. Fue una experiencia mágica.
Yes, I saw Santa Claus. It was a magical experience.

Note: Santa Claus is also commonly and informally used in Spanish.

Easy word to learn and remember!

Hay tres elfos con Papá Noel.
There are three elves with Santa Claus.

Ese elfo se llama Elvis.
That elf's name is Elvis. (Literally: he is called Elvis)

Hay un elfo detrás del árbol de Navidad.
There is an elf behind the Christmas tree.

Feliz Navidad - Merry Christmas

Feliz - happy or merry (can think felicity)

Navidad - Christmas

Navideño - relating to Christmas

Las luces navideñas - Christmas lights

Una película navideña - A Christmas movie

Un evento navideño - A Christmas event

While Navidad is capitalized, navideño is not.
Also notice navideño changes to navideña when related to feminine words.

Cantar - to sing

Guitarra - Guitar

Ella canta y baila.
She sings and dances.

Cantar changes to canta and bailar changes to baila.
Notice how it is the exact same for how to express that someone does something.

Hablar - to speak
Habla - she (or he) speaks

Comer - to eat
Come - she eats

Dibujar - to draw
Dibuja - she draws

Trabajar - to work
Trabaja - she works

The only main change is with action words (verbs) that end in -ir, although the change is minor.

Vivir - to live
Vive - she lives

Insistir - to insist
Insiste - she insists

The pronunciation sounds like: hee-rah-fah

Hay una jirafa sentada.
There is a giraffe sitting down.

Hay dos jirafas en el zoológico.
There are two giraffes at the zoo.

¿Has visto la jirafa?
Have you seen the giraffe?

Comiendo - eating

Anytime you see -iendo or -ando it usually is the -ing action happening.

The little girl is sad.

If you chose enojada, I would accept that answer as well.

La niña está enojada.
The little girl is mad.

If it were a boy, enojada would change to enojado.

The word triste stays the same. No changes.

Feliz - happy

Tranquila - calm (tranquil)
