Yewon Min is a multidisciplinary artist with roots in both Eastern and Western art traditions. She earned her MFA in Painting and Drawing from Pratt Institute in New York, following her undergraduate studies at Ewha Womans University in Seoul, where she majored in Oriental Painting. This experience allowed her to deeply engage with both Western and Eastern artistic traditions, shaping her unique perspective.

Yewon has exhibited her work in Korea, Canada, and the United States, gaining opportunities to showcase and sell her art in various exhibitions. Before relocating to Canada, she continued her artistic practice while also teaching fine art and design at several universities in Korea.

Her work explores themes of renewal, light and gratitude expressing spirituality, resilience, and the quiet forces that sustain us in everyday life. Now based in Nova Scotia, she continues her practice inspired by nature filled with crisp, luminous light.

You are invited to the 2025-26 Mentorship Program Exhibition, What Holds, at The Craig Gallery from June 30 to July 26, 2026.

Opening: Thursday, July 2, 5 to 7 pm
Emerging Artist Talk: Saturday, July 18, 1 pm (in-person at The Craig Gallery)

This exhibition highlights emerging artists Jordan Johnson, Kamila Orbegoso, Shane Song, and Jessica Steele alongside their mentors Melanie Colosimo, Margarita Fainshtein, Mathew Reichertz, and Christopher Webb.

Since 2006, VANS has paired emerging and established artists for a 10-month mentorship, helping emerging artists develop their creative practice and professional skills while giving established artists the chance to share their knowledge.

The Craig Gallery is located at Alderney Landing, 2 Ochterloney Street, Dartmouth. Gallery hours: Tuesday to Friday 10 am to 5 pm, Saturday 9 am to 1 pm, Sunday 11 am to 3 pm. Closed Monday.

Shutters of Woody Point
Artist Call 2026

Woody Point, Newfoundland and Labrador is accepting applications for an artist residency and public art installation. The selected artist will paint 10 plywood shutters across four heritage buildings, with artwork on display from fall through spring.

Residency dates: September 14 to October 18, 2026

Artist fee: $9000
Plus workshop, exhibition, and presentation fees. Travel compensation available. Accommodations and workspace provided.

This online workshop will show you how to establish prices that ensure you have a profitable business. We will discuss commonly used calculations for pricing visual art and craft and how to set your prices with confidence. We will also talk about how price fits into your overall marketing strategy and how your prices can send the right signal to the right customers.
