Halifax Humanities 101 offers an intellectually challenging, fascinating 8 month program of study in some of the greatest authors and texts of Western Civilization. Our teachers are university professors from all 6 Halifax universities, and from Acadia, who donate their time and expertise.

This Sunday, March 29, George Elliott Clarke presents "The Discipline of Poetry" at 5:30pm, Halifax Central Library. performs 4 of the poet's works set to music, all poems referenced in this poster, many of them with ties to local Halifax history!

The success of the Trial of Frankenstein’s Monster earlier this month is featured in the Dal News! Congrats to Chaeyon Lee and her team from the Weldon Literary Moot Society for producing this hilarious night of legal theatre!

Creature v. Creator: Weldon moot puts Frankenstein and his Monster on trial in annual charity competition More than 80 people gathered for the 15th annual Weldon Literary Moot based on Mary Shelley’s 1818 Gothic novel Frankenstein, raising $4,530 for charity.

Two weeks until the Humanities Today lecture featuring distinguished poet George Elliott Clarke, singer Julia Tynes, and pianist Simon Docking!

March 29, at 5:30pm in the Central Library's O'Regan hall, will be an evening of poetry, music, and reflection on the value of the humanities for all!

This event also celebrates 20 years of Halifax Humanities, with the launch of "Each Life a Poem," an anthology of student and teacher writing from our transformative humanities courses.
