A few exciting programs being held at Needham Community Centre that still have space available:

Valentine's Sugar Cookie Decorating Workshops – Ages 18+
Bring an apron and come learn how to make picture perfect sugar cookies for someone special. Start by learning a few tricks to make perfectly shaped cookies and continue on to learn how to make Royal Icing and the various consistencies used to decorate intricate designs. Each participant will get to take home a cookie scribe and cookie cutters... and of course, cookies.

Learn to Twirl - Ages : 7-12
Learn to Twirl introduces students to the sport of baton twirling. Whether you are brand new to twirling or looking to return to the sport, this five-day program gets participants moving in the gym while learning fundamental skills. Instruction will focus on basic twirls, tosses, rolls, and a variety of floor work, including jumps and spins. Batons will be available to share, or new batons may be ordered in advance of the program.

Municipally-owned and operated recreation facilities will be closed on Jan. 26 due to weather. A decision will be made later in the day regarding whether rentals, facilities and programming activities will continue as scheduled on Jan. 27.

In addition, the Halifax Forum ice surfaces (the Forum Arena and the Civic Centre) will be closed for the morning on Jan. 26. This is due to the potential for snow to accumulate on the building’s roof. Halifax Forum staff will monitor status and a decision will be made at noon on Jan. 26 if afternoon/evening programming will continue as planned.

The Halifax Public Gardens will be closed on Jan. 26.

Due to the overnight weather forecast into Monday, Jan. 19, many municipal recreation facilities will have delayed openings tomorrow morning. A decision will be made by 10 a.m. on whether rentals, facilities, and programs will proceed as scheduled, with a potential reopening at 12 p.m.
