Join Dalhousie's Faculty of Engineering for a live panel event where we highlight the careers and impact of three engineers making waves in the area of healthcare and healthcare infrastructure.
Our panel members:
Bryan P. Darrell- Bryan is the Director, Healthcare Project Services for the Department of Transportation and Infrastructure Renewal, Province of Nova Scotia. His portfolio covers all health-related projects valued over $1 million dollars. This position provides the opportunity to examine infrastructure issues at both large facilities and small community-based outlets.
Bai Bintou Kaira- Bintou is the co-founder of GAPhealth, where process optimization, people, and project management skills are used to create a successful business on the use of mobile-based applications for chronic disease management in Africa.
Noreen Kamal- Noreen is working to improve acute stroke treatment throughout the Atlantic Provinces through her CIHR funded ACTEAST (Atlantic Canada Together Enhancing Acute Stroke Treatment) Project.

Dr. Barb Hamilton-Hinch is leading a Dalhousie research project to better understand the benefits of culturally specific programs. The study was launched in response to the lack of data about the post-secondary experiences of African Nova Scotian learners. PLANS has been chosen as a program of interest!
Your participation will involve taking part in an individual interview between 30-45 min. Interviews will be held up until Dec 31st, 2020.
You can participate in the study if…
• You self-identify as a person of African descent
• You took part in PLANS, as a participant, volunteer and/or staff member
• You are above 18 years of age

2020 STEM QUIZ TOURNAMENT - December 5, 2020

Great job by all participants of the 3rd annual STEM QUIZ TOURNAMENT! This was the first year that the event was held virtually through Microsoft Teams. Students answered questions posed through the Kahoot! platform.
Scores were tallied for all team members. Teams with the top three average scores will receive medals; members of the winning team will receive 10.2", 32GB iPads.
New this year, the individual student with the highest score is awarded the Most Valuable Player (MVP) and will receive an iPad.
