We're having fun at the NWR Youth Engagement Initiative Inc. this week! 💙

Take a look at some of our milestones from the last 30 years!

1996 - Founded at Dalhousie University to make STEM education accessible to youth across NS.

2000 - Launched all-girls programming & expanded outreach to more communities.

2005 - Scaled travelling workshops, reaching youth across the province.

2010 - Expanded into Indigenous & northern communities, including sustained outreach in Labrador.

2015 - Strengthened leadership & curriculum to support long-term program growth.

2020 - Adapted programming nationwide through virtual learning, at-home kits, and Girls Count.

2022 - Introduced Mlkiknewawti Land-based Education Program, advancing land-based learning grounded in Indigenous Knowledge.

2026 - Leading climate & clean energy education through ACES, IES, and CETC, and reaching 15,000+ participants annually across Atlantic Canada 🎉

Camp is for youth going in to grades 1-9 in the fall and runs until August 28.

Our Outreach team had a busy week last week - heading to BGC Charlottetown, BGC Preston, and Bear River First Nation! They brought all the STEM fun with them and thank you to everyone who came out and participated!!

We’re heading to St. George’s YouthNet, Mulgrave Park, Windsor Junction Community Centre, Millbrook First Nation Youth Centre & Sipekne’katik First Nation this week - we’ll see you there! 🔬
