The Halifax Languages Consortium

The Halifax Languages Consortium The Consortium is a group of highly qualified local people who are involved in language instruction and learning.

The Consortium includes representatives of local universities, HRM, ISANS, public and independent schools, parentsโ€™ associations, NGOs, private language schools, and interpreters and translators. It is not affiliated with any single institution. It has a President, a Secretary, four Advisory Committee Members, and individual members. We have mandated ourselves to hold a minimum of three meetings per year; all individual members are voting members and membership is free.

The topics for discussion and questions are varied: How do you connect with nature in an urban setting? How would you describe your favourite places in nature? Share your knowledge of local flora and fauna, exchange ideas on the future (community resilience, food security and climate change) and on anything that gives you hope.

To fuel these discussions, as well as our hearts and stomachs, Ratinaud French Cuisine will be preparing a seasonal vegetable soup for us ๐Ÿฒ, and LF Bakery will be treating us to some delicious sourdough bread. ๐Ÿž
