The Information Without Borders (IWB) Conference is a student-run initiative led by individuals in the Master of Information program. Started in 2007, this event provides a forum for interdisciplinary discussion on a central topic affecting all professions represented in Information Science.
Our theme for the Information Without Borders (IWB) Conference 2026 is “Currents of Change: Navigating the Shifts in Information Science”. Information science has never stood still. It moves like tides, reshaping the shores of knowledge with every wave of innovation. From the early currents of cataloguing and classification to today’s surging flows of data analytics, AI, and digital ecosystems, the field has evolved in rhythm with technological and societal change. This conference explores those shifts, with attendees sharing how ideas ripple outward, how practices ebb and flow, and how we can navigate the next wave of transformation. Attendees will have the opportunity to unpack what that can look like across the information management sector, and connect with other professionals, students, and researchers about these issues.
Students within the MI program are highly recommended to submit posters.

Please help us spread the word – LAMNS is seeking volunteers!
The Libraries, Archives & Museums Nova Scotia (LAMNS) cross-sector conference will take place in Halifax/Kjipuktuk from October 2-4, 2025. Centred on the theme Intersections, the conference will celebrate and explore our sectors’ adaptability, sustainability, and community connections. Co-organized by the Association of Nova Scotia Museums, Council of Nova Scotia Archives, and Nova Scotia Library Association, this is a rare chance for library, archive, and museum professionals to come together, share, learn, and connect.
LAMNS 2025 is offering up to 15 volunteer spots to assist with the daily conference operations and ensure that sessions and events run smoothly and are enjoyable for all. Our priority for volunteers is emerging professionals in the fields of libraries, archives and museums. Applicants with other fields of study or interests are welcome but the priority will be given to those in LAMs.
What are the benefits of volunteering at the LAMNS 2025 Conference?
- If you volunteer for one shift, you are able to attend the rest of that day's sessions and activities free of charge!
- If you commit to two or more shifts, you will be able to attend the full 3-day conference for free!
