The Dance Institute

Last Thursday, our PEP students had the wonderful opportunity to join in class during their Halifax visit and attend their performance Friday night.

We are so grateful to for making this experience possible and to Ballet Kelowna for warmly welcoming our dancers into their class! Opportunities like these allow our students to learn from professional artists, gain insight into company life, and experience the artistry of professional dance firsthand.

We pair the rigors of high-level technique in Ballet, Jazz, and Contemporary with a culture of care and support. Because we believe in true individual mentorship, we cap our cohorts at 8 dancers per level.

Due to high interest, The Dance Institute is holding a second audition date for our 2026/27 Professional Education and Development Programs!

We intentionally limit our class sizes to 8 dancers per level to ensure our faculty can provide the dedicated, compassionate, and highly personalized mentorship our students need to thrive.

Important Note: This audition is a required annual component for all dancers looking to train with us next season, including our returning TDI dancers.

One week. Full focus. An intense pre-professional training experience designed to challenge, refine, and elevate every dancer in the studio. With performance training, technique development, diverse styles, and guidance from TDI faculty.

Each day begins with ballet class, conditioning, and contemporary technique, building a strong foundation before moving into repertoire, creative work, and masterclass-style experiences that inspire versatility, confidence, and performance quality.

Schedules and faculty announcements will be released closer to the intensive date. Remember to catch the early bird rate before June 20th!

We offer a six-day curriculum focused on technical advancement in Ballet, Jazz, and Contemporary dance, supplemented by pedagogical seminars.
