AYC Sailing School is located at Armdale Yacht Club on Halifax’s historic Northwest Arm, minutes from downtown.

Our programs introduce people of all ages to sailing and help them develop their skills and knowledge in a safe, fun, and accessible environment.

- We offer affordable and high-quality beginner, intermediate and advanced programs for youth!

- Students learn sailing skills from Sail Canada’s curriculum for youth and adults.

- Students get the opportunity to practice advanced skills and learn to race.

Anyone can register

You don’t have to be an Armdale Yacht Club member to register, however AYC members receive a 15% discount.

SUMMER SAILING FOR YOUTH!

AYC Sailing School has 1 and 2-week programs for youth taking place in July and August. Our programs focus on hands-on learning, safety and FUN! It's one of the best way for kids to spend the summer -- on the water, making new friends and learning while doing!

No matter their age or skill level, our Junior Sailing programs can help them learn or improve their sailing skills and knowledge in a safe, welcoming atmosphere in central Halifax.

We offer tender service to the Halifax peninsula to help families with drop off and pick up :)

We are very excited to announce that, 'the IODA Executive Committee chose Halifax, Canada to be host the 2026 Optimist North American Championship. The championship will take place from May 21 – 28 at the Royal Nova Scotia Yacht Squadron (RNSYS).'

As Chris Tully, Director of Sailing at RNSYS, notes, 'we have a proud tradition of developing top Optimist sailors, and we look forward to hosting this world class event in 2026.'
