Position: Studio Assistant
Duration: Part-time, May through August (approximately 24 hours with the potential for more)

ArtWorks is an all-ages art studio located in Halifax, Nova Scotia that offers classes, camps, parties and workshops to artists of all levels and ages. Our programs are fun and interactive, and our variety of classes allow you to experiment with various mediums and materials.

We are looking for a like-minded individual to join our team. The ideal candidate is passionate about art and loves being around children.

Responsibilities include:
- assisting and teaching art projects for summer camps
- assisting with and leading birthday parties, classes and field trips
- making demos for projects
- general studio maintenance, organization and cleaning

Qualifications include:
- excellent communication skills
- excellent organizational skills
- artistic eye and attention to detail
- able to draw and paint
- able to multitask and work in a busy classroom setting
- energetic and a sense of fun
- able to be flexible and adapt to and enjoy change
- able to work as part of a team and independently
- experience working with children is an asset

We are a group of local and east coast makers, artists and creators who provide opportunities for our kids, neighbours and community members to engage with art. We believe that art promotes diversity of thought and perspective, offers healthy stress relief outlets and helps us all see the beauty in experimentation and imagination.
