A tribute to Janet Marie Drapeau (née Higgins). At just three years old, she was diagnosed with encephalitis, fell into a coma for six weeks, and was left paralyzed on the right side of her body due to brain damage. Doctors said she wouldn’t live a long life, but Janet proved them wrong. She lived well into her seventies, raised three children, volunteered to support youth, earned her high school diploma from Mount Saint Vincent Academy, and worked for the RCMP.

Sue Drapeau has stayed deeply connected to MSVU since earning her two degrees in the 1980s. She joined the Alumni Association Board right after graduation, serving for 22 years before returning in 2023 as Secretary.
