A dashcam captured a scary moment when a driver experienced a medical emergency, crossed the road, and ended up in the ditch.

Thankfully, no one was hurt and the driver is okay. The rear camera showed two vehicles approaching — the first continued on, while the second white vehicle stopped to help.

This is a reminder that not every incident on the road is caused by unsafe driving. Sometimes unexpected emergencies happen in a split second.

🚨 Close call on Main Street in Dartmouth 🚨

This dashcam footage shows a vehicle pulling out just as an 18-wheeler is passing. The driver recording this says they would have had no choice but to hit the vehicle if someone had been beside them in the other lane.

Thankfully, they were paying attention, knew the lane beside them was clear, and were able to avoid what could have been a serious collision.

A reminder that before pulling out onto the road, take an extra second to make sure the way is clear. That one second can make the difference between a close call and a crash.

🚨 Another wrong-way driver caught on dashcam. 🚨

This time, a vehicle was captured driving on the wrong side of the road on Chain Lake Drive near the Halifax Tower Hotel.

Thankfully, this incident didn’t end in a head-on collision, but it’s another reminder of how dangerous a single mistake can be. Wrong-way driving appears to be happening far too often on Nova Scotia roads, and every one of these incidents has the potential to change lives in an instant.

⚠️ Dashcam Captures Alleged Child Passenger Safety Violation 🚨

The dashcam submitter says they watched six people get into this vehicle. They also state they saw a child, believed to be under the age of two, placed on an adult’s lap in the back seat, with no child car seat visible, before the vehicle drove away.

The submitter says they immediately contacted police to report what they witnessed. According to the submitter, officers later advised they would follow up because the vehicle was no longer at the address when they initially attended.

If the submitter’s account is accurate, this is a serious child passenger safety concern. Child restraints are designed to protect children in the event of a crash, and holding a child on your lap does not provide that protection.
