Scotia Environmental Education Delivery - SEED

Do you love the outdoors and mentoring children? Come join the SEED team! We are currently seeking a Forest Facilitator for our Forest Adventures Afterschool Program. Applications can be sent to Rebecca at [email protected]. The deadline to apply is January 24th.

We have been on the look out for mushrooms and fungi this week 🍄 with some fabulous finds.

We are always learning and discovering new things in the forest. The children were very excited to find a rock that had a Quartz Vien running through it. These are formed when an opening of a crack-shaped cavity in the rock is filled by the precipitation of quartz from dissolved silica. ⚒

Sometimes just being still is what really need. Meditation in nature fills us with a sense of calmness, like the water this evening, which allows us to see all the beautiful reflections of the life that surrounds us.

The days are getting darker which gives us a great opportunity to experience the forest at dusk. Today we made these diy lanterns 🏮

Climbing trees is risky play but the rewards are so great!
